FW19 RUNWAY
INSIDE LOOK
CLIENT: Michael Kors Collection
Role: Video Art Director
The Michael Kors FW19 Collection drew inspiration from the peak glamour of 1970s and '80s New York—the era of icons like Jerry Hall and Grace Jones. The runway show, held at the legendary Cipriani Wall Street, featured a surprise performance by Barry Manilow and was attended by a global audience of A-list celebrities and influencers.
The Michael Kors team enlisted me to art direct an "Inside Look" video capturing the magic of both the backstage and the runway, with a turnaround time of just hours to shoot, edit, and release. Drawing on the glitz of Studio 54, I developed a visual treatment utilizing hazy, prismatic lens filters to achieve a shimmering, dreamlike aesthetic practically. Working with the video team at Spreadhouse, we successfully delivered a fast-paced edit that captured the intoxicating energy of the event in real-time.

SS20 RUNWAY
INSIDE LOOK
CLIENT: Michael Kors Collection
Role: Video Art Director
The Michael Kors SS20 Collection celebrated American optimism with a sophisticated touch of nostalgia. The runway show was staged at the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, set to a live performance by the American Modern Opera Company’s youth choir.
I was brought back to art direct the "Inside Look" video, a high-speed production shot, edited, and released on the same day. To mirror the collection's nostalgic theme, I developed a visual treatment that blended high-resolution footage with lo-fi textures. We utilized authentic 90s camcorders and VHS glitch effects, mixing them with phone-captured content to create a runway and backstage recap that felt both contemporary and "now-stalgic."
